Blythedale Childrens School

As some at the studio know, our son Bryan has cerebral palsy, is wheelchair bound and has been an out patient at Blythedale since birth. Each year the company dancers perform for the children there and afterward, they spend the day in the academic classrooms as mentors to the children. I am proud to say that this year, our oldest dancers who were not scheduled to attend, asked to because they missed performing for and spending the day with the Blythedale students. ACD also has four alumni who are now working in fields such as speech therapy and physical therapy because of their experiences at Blythedale. A very rewarding day to say the least!

King Street Nursing Home

King Street Home is always a pleasure to perform for! The residents enjoy our dancers and even provide cookies and juice after the show. It is a beautiful nursing home and we look forward to each year!

Dancefest

Our Modern Companies ages 11-18 performed at Dancefest again this year. Stamford Center for the Arts sponsors a two weekend long event for over 400 dancers from New York and Connecticut. The first weekend the dancers attend classes with professional instructors form all over the world. The second weekend the dancers get to perform one 7 minute dance and participate in a finale with all 400 dancers. This is a great privilege to be invited to Dancefest for four consecutive years and look forward to next year!

White Plains Youth Bureau

On January 30th, our Hip Hop  and Tempo Companies were invited to perform at the White Plains Youth Bureaus annual benefit. This years proceeds went to both African children and Doctors Without Borders to help in Haiti. There were dancers, singers and musicians from Westchester who came together to put on this Motown event. Jessica Santiago, a former teacher at ACD works at the Youth Bureau and we were proud to be a part of it!

Junior League Holiday Drive

The companies collected six totes full of food, toys, clothing and other gifts for the Junior League Holiday Drive to benefit a family from Mt. Kisco! Upon delivering the totes, I was touched to see the Mt. Kisco Boys and Girls Club full of totes from floor to ceiling! It was a beautiful thing!

Ronald McDonald House

On December 5th, Armonk Dance Companies were one of several dance companies from Westchester to perform for audiences to benefit the families of the Ronald McDonald House at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Our dancers raised over $500.00 for the RMDH by selling raffle tickets. Baskets were raffled off at the end of the day.

Halloween Party

To celebrate Armonk Dance 15 year anniversary we had a community wide Halloween party. The company members and staff all dressed up to celebrate with all ages. Everyone played Dance Dance Revolution, Gutiar Hero and several carnival games. There was face painting, tattoos, and a haunted room too! Everyone had a great time!
